The Other Side of Needham Photography

So, my husband is forcing me to introduce myself and my role in Needham Photography. To those who don’t already know me, my name is Tisha, wife of Shawn (the photographer) and mother to three beautiful children. In addition to working behind the scenes at Needham Photography, I also homeschool our three children and help to care for my mom-in-law who is suffering from Alzheimer’s disease. I have to say when Shawn first mentioned his desire to quit his full time job and do photography full time, I was like hold up, how are we going to support ourselves??? I know that it takes time to start up a business and time to make it grow. So, I was quite reluctant at first and a little skeptical. But, I trust my husband, and decided that if this is what he wanted to do, I would do what I could to help him succeed.

So, my first objective was to help him find part-time work that could support us while we try to grow the business. It’s been quite an experience already, although we still have so much to learn. A lot of funny and some not so funny experiences which we’ll talk about at a later date. I too enjoy photography, but still have a ways to go to hone my skills. I’ve learned that I really enjoy photo editing, making an already beautiful photo come to life. I know some people have different ideas about photo editing, but I feel that if it’s not overdone it can really do much to enhance a photo. I also helped to create our website, and from time to time, make edits to it to improve it’s functionality. We are still at the beginning stages of our business, but we both feel so thankful for all the support we’ve received from family and friends. We hope that we can continue to grow as a family business and maybe one day capture some of your precious memories one click at a time.
